Elizabeth Amy Ford’s practice is based around concepts of the sublime, presence and absence, grief, mourning and loss. The practice explores one of society’s final taboos, death; and reflects upon the loss of her parents. Through acknowledging how this experience is often excluded from cultural experience and traditional domestic photography, the work aims to offer an insight into the transcendence of a being from the physical realm to a metaphysical one.
